Descriptive Essay About Beauty

L, your smile contains more beauty than a warm sunset or clear moon. Seeing your twinkling grin when I walk into Lit compels me to stay in the class despite hating it. I gaze upon you sitting there. Hair flowing. Eyes stunning. I get a feeling only you can give me. A feeling of joy. Of desire. A desire to be by your side. A desire to be a better me. After class, you present to me the privlege of walking with you. Do you know how it feels to walk next to the physical manifestation of beauty? How the chance to walk next to such a breathtaking woman granted itself to me I have no clue, but even though we spend less than a minute together, I feel beyond special. I feel like I matter. I am walking with easily the prettiest girl in the school, and she doesn 't just happen to be standing right next to me. That feeling? Pure perfection. I attempted to find words to describe your eyes, but I just couldn 't. The English lexicon has not grown large enough yet, and it most likely never will. I go on Instagram and see a selfie of this exquisite woman; then I look into her eyes. I can 't stop. I just simply stare in awe. The pattern inside the green heaven is simply incredible. And I have the pleasure of knowing every day those eyes look upon me with a sense of care [well, most of the time at least :)]. That feeling? Pure perfection. These are two of your most prominent features, but in the end, they both simply have a place on a face that belongs on the walls of museums

Beauty By Joyce Carol Oates Analysis

BEST PARAGRAPH At the beginning of Oates story, Connie is viewed as a young girl with no cares in the world except for the idea of having physical beauty. Joyce Carol Oates wrote that Connie would “look right through her mother” because “she knew she was pretty and that was everything” (323). By including this, Connie is seen as a self-centered girl who only wants people to speak to her if she will make sure they drown her in compliments. She refuses to retaliate to her mother because her mother just doesn’t understand the “hardships” she has to go through to look attractive.

Descriptive Essay About Beauty

descriptive essay beauty

Show More Beauty. A concept that is engraved in the mind of every woman. As little girls we twirled around in our mom’s dresses and high heals, with her glossy smooth pearls hanging from our small and delicate necks while eagerly looking in the mirror and asking our precious little selves “am I beautiful?” Beauty is a concept that is so often associated with the images like that of the little girls; that even as we age, we try to find beauty in the fabric, the accessories, and the makeup we spend countless hours and money on because society tells us it will make us “desirable” and “beautiful”. But, what if we were to look at beauty as more then what we physically clothe ourselves in? The saying about “beauty is what is on the inside” is repetitively …show more content… Insecurities are struggles that everyone, male or female have. It is those features about ourselves that stick out at us every time we look in the mirror or a picture is taken of us. I read this and discovered that the situation I had to walk through was a quite common one, and the insecurities I had about my appearance were quite similar across the board with thousands of other girls as well. Even at young ages, society plants the seeds of “beautiful” in our minds, and it almost feels like its always just out of reach. No matter what you do to the outside, there is always the inner young girl trying to achieve her idea of beautiful. As research and personal experience shows doing this can have hard effects on the hearts of young girls. This may seem like a message that is drowning in hopelessness and gloom, but it is actually quite the opposite; there is hope and an essence to be discovered amidst this hard …show more content… As an individual, discovering and embracing our hearts, and learning to clothe ourselves in the intricate detail of our hearts is a long journey, but it is one worth taking. In study done by Unilever and Dove, they shared the statistic that “seventy-seven percent [of women] agree that beauty can be achieved through attitude, spirit, and other attributions have noting to do with physical appearance”. Physical appearance is beautiful and something that should not just get thrown to the curb here. The point is that beauty is MORE than just physical appearance, and when our inner beauty is what we clothe ourselves in on the outside, we discover that true beauty about ourselves as individual

Social Norms In America

It is disappointing that society constantly labels what constitutes as “beautiful”, this creates stress among the female gender, who then have to consort to what is considered the social norm. The majority of elite high society members don’t address racism in America until a huge incident involving hate crimes or death comes out. This then creates an upheaval in the rest of the social classes because they were already aware of the hostility among the people. It is unfortunate that the majority of sexual assault crimes go overlooked in America, and that even speaking about rape or molestation is considered to be taboo.…

Descriptive Essay About Beauty

She is summer. She is spontaneous plans. She is the ivory rose in a sea of crimson red. The slight aroma of warm vanilla and sugar radiate off her skin. Her golden wavy hair is untamed, ending at the small of her back tied up in a loose braid. Behind her slightly crooked black glasses, her eyes are crystal blue, like a sea in the calm after a raging storm’s wrath. Her short brown eyelashes bat freely as she sways to the soothing music. Each freckle on her young face is warmly welcomed by her light skin , rather than tolerated. As she parts her lips, pearl white peers out from behind, trying to make an entrance. A joke makes way for a straight smile as it is accompanied by a proportional nose, with a slightly bulbous tip front of her open nostrils. Her thick coral lips, slightly upturned at the corners, return to her normal state after the joke has subsided. The cupids bow resting fairly high while the thin sides tug at the peaks of her mouth, hiding on the inside of her mouth. The baby fat is gone from the apples of her cheeks, yet the innocent light coral shade of a newborn baby remains below her eyes. Below a pouting bottom lip rests a delicate chin comfortably, not protruding from the face but instead bleeding into her soft heart shaped jaw. Looking past first impressions, small wrinkles are present on the outsides of her eyes in a sideways v shape . More are found below her nose, making a path down to the corners of her mouth. At the base of her average lengthed neck

What is Beauty: Unrealistic and Unobtainable Essay

For centuries mankind has unsuccessfully attempted to define beauty. Greek philosophers, including Plato, tried to define beauty as if it were as simple as any other law in nature. However this cannot be so because the idea of what is beautiful has varied throughout cultures and the ages. In the 1800s women who were pale and rather plump were considered objects of desire; but in today’s society, desirable women are slender and tan, among other things. The fact is that today, beauty is as unobtainable as it is indefinable. All of today’s supermodels, as seen in millions of advertisements, have been modified, airbrushed, and photoshopped. Women desiring this beauty have turned to various

Around and around she swirled and kicked to the music of the bagpipes. As she spun around, he could see her beautiful long legs and the sweet curve of her rounded bottom. Her waist, he realized he could circle with his hands. Her bust was full and appeared to be a plump handful. Her complexion was pale as peaches he’d read about in books from her world. While he enjoyed her dance, passion heated his blood, and Mackenzie recognized she was the young woman from his dream.

Definition Essay: What's The Whole Point Of Beauty?

Many people believe that beauty is just on the outside while everything is on the inside. Not many people think that they are beautiful because of society today. While everyone is criticizing certain things that people do, they could be destroyed inside, yet still be happy around the ones they care about, to not hurt them or to not put a burden on them. Yet when somebody finally does what society asks it’s still criticized by many. All they think is that there’s a certain body image that humans have to maintain to.

The Beauty Standard Essay

"Does this make me look fat?” Everyone at one time or another has experienced this iconic question in some way. Your best friend may have asked it, as she was getting ready for a date or maybe you muttered these words to yourself as you stared disapprovingly into a mirror; either way, this six-word question alludes to a standard of beauty that everyone strives to meet. A standard of beauty that is almost impossible to meet. The definition of beauty has evolved greatly over the years and it differs from culture to culture. Today, western culture idolizes the woman who is “thin, large breasted, and white (tanned, but not too brown)” (WVFV, pg. 220). This woman is one that millions of women strive to look like in

Essay On Feminine Beauty

The feminine beauty ideal, as defined by Louis-Baker Sperry and Liz Grauerholz in The Pervasiveness and Persistence of the Feminine Beauty Ideal in Children’s Fairy Tales, is “the socially constructed notion that physical attractiveness is one of women’s most important assets, and something all women should strive to achieve and maintain.” (Sperry and Grauerholz, 2003). Under the feminine beauty ideal, beauty is seen as a central part of womanhood; doing femininity or womanhood necessitates doing beauty. In accordance with this, a 2001 study found that women’s bodies must, in order to successfully reach an idealized state of femininity, be actively maintained and regulated through beauty rituals in a way that men’s are not. Thus, through

Beauty Extended Definition Essay

Beauty is something that can be interpreted completely different from person to person. A famous quote that goes along with this perfectly is “beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” I think a person’s inner beauty should be taken into account when deciding whether or not a person is beautiful. Wikipedia’s definition of beauty is, “a characteristic of a person, animal, place, object, or idea that provides a perceptual experience of pleasure or satisfaction” while Oxford Dictionary states, “beauty is a combination of qualities, such as shape, color, or form, that pleases the aesthetic senses, especially sight.” As you can see, inner beauty could be paired with Wiki’s definition and outer beauty could be paired with Oxfords. Of course, there

What is Beauty? Essay

What is beauty? How do we decide who is attractive and who is not? Society is full of information telling us what is beautiful, but what fact is that information based on? The topic of beauty has been studied, analyzed and controversial for centuries. We all know the feeling you can have when you hear a beautiful song that brings joy to your heart, stand in a field of flowers that excites your eyes, or admire a face that is visually pleasing. As human beings, we are all drawn to beauty, but what is it that makes something beautiful? The controversial issue that surrounds beauty is that some believe that true beauty is defined by someone’s outer appearance, while others believe it is something that is experienced through a person’s

Beauty Is In The Eye Of The Beholder Essay

Have it your way at Burger King. In that case, I’ll have a body about twenty pounds lighter with a butt and breast enlargement please. Wouldn’t it be great if we could order the bodies we live in like ordering food from a fast food restaurant? It would be so much easier if we could just choose our own ideal bodies, wouldn’t it? Unfortunately we don’t live in this utopia, and whatever body you’re born with, that’s what you get, so learn to love the body you were born with. As Plato once put it, “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” This basically means that everyone has their own beauty and just because you don’t find someone attractive doesn’t mean somebody else doesn’t, or even more importantly, that they don’t love themselves. Because I agree with this statement, I believe that this constant pressure people are put under by society to lose weight and lose it fast, is not only a ridiculous request, but it can be detrimental to someone’s health to suggest they come to Ihop hungry, and leave still hungry, and when so many women are willing to risk their health to have the body that society deems acceptable shows that most if not all women have been taught to hate themselves for not having the “perfect” body. When it comes to body image we must first as people learn to accept ourselves for who we are, accept that the process of losing weight is a process that takes time and effort, and that if you are not a doctor, someone else’s body problems are none of your business.

Beauty Essay : The Definition Of Natural Beauty

Natural beauty, in this day and age, is a term that has many definitions because it is a controversial term. With the way people dress, act, and express themselves, it is extremely hard to find the true denotation of natural beauty. This is also true with the growing popularity in makeup in both genders. When asked to define it, people have formed their own opinions of the term along with the commonly known denotation, connotation, synonyms, and antonyms. The definition of the term also can be described and derived from my personal experiences along with others’. Though there is much evidence for and against the belief, natural beauty is more than what’s on the outside.

Short Essay: Beauty Of Nature

The beauty of nature has been a source of inspiration and wonder for centuries, influencing artists, poets, and philosophers alike. Writing a short essay on this topic allows you to explore the aesthetic, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of nature. Below, find a detailed guide on structuring a concise yet compelling essay that captures the essence of nature’s beauty.

Table of Contents

Introduction

Begin with an introduction that draws the reader in by highlighting the universal appeal and significance of nature’s beauty. Use a vivid description, a quote, or a personal anecdote to start on a strong note.

The body of your essay should delve deeper into the subject, exploring different aspects of nature’s beauty. Here’s a structured way to approach it:

  • Aesthetic Appreciation:  Discuss the visual elements of nature—its landscapes, wildlife, and seasons. Describe how these elements contribute to the aesthetic beauty that can be both soothing and exhilarating.
  • Emotional Impact:  Explain how nature elicits emotions such as peace, awe, and joy. You might include scientific references or psychological theories about how spending time in nature reduces stress and increases happiness.
  • Spiritual Significance:  Consider the spiritual or philosophical meanings that many cultures attribute to nature. Discuss how natural beauty can lead to a deeper understanding of life or a sense of connection to something greater than oneself.
  • Ecological Importance:  Briefly touch on the importance of preserving natural beauty not only for its aesthetic value but also for its role in maintaining biodiversity and ecological health.

Conclude your essay by synthesizing the ideas discussed and reflecting on the broader implications of nature’s beauty. End with a call to action or a thoughtful question that prompts further reflection.

Beauty Of Nature Essay Example #1

Nature is a beautiful and awe-inspiring force that surrounds us every day. It is impossible to deny the stunning beauty of nature’s landscapes, the changing seasons, and the sounds and smells that evoke feelings of peace and tranquility. In this essay, I will explore the beauty of nature through its diverse landscapes, changing seasons, and sensory experiences.

The first aspect of nature’s beauty that I will explore is its diverse landscapes. From the vast forests of the Amazon to the towering mountains of the Himalayas, nature presents us with a breathtaking array of landscapes. The changing seasons provide another opportunity to witness the beauty of nature. With each season comes new colors and natural phenomena, such as blooming flowers in the spring or fall foliage in the autumn. In the winter, the snow and ice can transform even the most mundane landscapes into a winter wonderland. The summer sunsets and beach landscapes offer a warmth and beauty that is unparalleled. Each season has its unique beauty, and it is impossible not to be moved by the changing colors and natural wonders that each one presents.

Finally, nature’s sounds and smells offer a sensory experience that is unparalleled. The sound of birds singing, the rustling of leaves in the wind, and the roar of the ocean waves all evoke feelings of peace and tranquility. The scent of pine trees, the salty sea air, and the sweet fragrance of blooming flowers can transport us to another world, one that is filled with beauty and wonder. Even the sound of rain can be beautiful, with the pitter-patter of raindrops on leaves and the soft thunder in the distance offering a soothing and calming effect.

In conclusion, the beauty of nature is evident in its diverse landscapes, changing seasons, and sensory experiences. From the towering mountains to the vast oceans, from the blooming flowers to the winter snow, nature presents us with a breathtaking array of beauty. The sounds and smells of nature only add to this beauty, evoking feelings of peace and tranquility that are impossible to find elsewhere. It is no wonder that so many people find solace and inspiration in nature, for it is truly a wonder to behold.
