For the chosen article, it talked about the replacement of oil and gas by using solar power. This initiative is to expose clean energy in order to reduce extreme weather and reduce the temperature haze.

To make it realize, the companies need to have more financial to expand the solar power site. To increase their financial, climate investments are needed. However, there are less investors who invest in climate investment. So, the government need to take initiatives to encourage investors from outside and inside Malaysia to invest more on climate investment.

Categories of the climate investment based on the article that we choose is, renewable energy. Renewable energy is energy derived from natural sources that are replenished at a higher rate than they are consumed. Sunlight and wind, for example, are such sources that are constantly being replenished. Renewable energy sources are plentiful all around us. Based on the article we selected, the renewable energy found in the article is solar energy. They worked on green projects in many countries before going back to Malaysia. Company Plus Xnergy that helps homes businesses and buildings to develop their own solar power system or source clean energy supplies from somewhere else. The company's owner and other energy experts warned that Malaysia is falling behind its Southeast Asian neighbours in terms of clean energy expansion, citing a lack of financial incentives and investment, as well as red tape, as impeding large-scale projects needed to meet the country's ambitious climate goals. "Malaysia is considered quite average in Southeast Asia," said the founder of company Plus Xnergy, adding that the country's renewables efforts have experienced "steady but not super-fast growth." Malaysia, like many other countries in the region, is constantly affected by the effects of extreme weather and rising temperatures, whether it is stifling smog caused by regional forest fires, water shortages, droughts, or devastating floods. The floods that occurred in Malaysia in late 2021 emphasises the critical necessity for climate change action. The economic losses and displacement of over 120,000 people caused by flooding highlight the significance of Malaysia's objective of reducing global warming emissions to zero by 2050. Malaysia has set lofty aims to boost the use of renewable energy sources in order to attain this goal. Malaysia intends to derive 31% of its electricity capacity from renewables by 2025, increasing to 40% by 2035. These goals are crucial in terms of reducing the country's reliance on fossil fuels and lowering greenhouse gas emissions. Malaysia will need to spend considerably in renewable energy infrastructure and technologies, such as solar and wind power, to meet these ambitions. In order to attract private investment in the sector, the government will also need to implement supportive regulations and incentives. Improving renewable energy regulatory frameworks and encouraging energy efficiency will also be crucial. By working towards these goals, Malaysia will be able to take significant efforts towards lowering greenhouse gas emissions and minimizing the effects of climate change. The recent floods serve as a reminder of the critical need for climate action and the urgency of transitioning to a low-carbon economy. Malaysia's lack of effective renewable energy policies is a major impediment to the country's transition to clean energy. According to a recent report by a power provider, there

Malaysia has been taking climate action since it is one of the nations that is constantly impacted by climate change, including regular flooding, increasing sea levels, and unexpected weather fluctuations. Investments in sustainable transportation, green infrastructure, and renewable energy are meant by this.

Regarding renewable energy investments, Malaysia has two primary natural resource kinds that are currently in use which are hydropower and solar electricity. Other renewable energy sources, which account for less than 1% of the total used in Malaysia, besides the primary source are waste, geothermal energy, and biomass. Malaysia has installed 23% of its entire capacity for sustainable energy as of now, and by 2025, it wants to raise that number to 25%.

Private businesses have recently responded favorably to installing and making investments in solar PV thanks to government initiatives that have expanded service providers and implemented several plans and programmes. The government's main initiatives for expanding the use of solar energy in commercial operations and residential use are being carried out by the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia. These initiatives include the Large-Scale Solar Programme (LSS), the Net Energy Metering 3 (NEM) scheme, and the upcoming implementation of the carbon market.

At least 90% of Malaysia's energy consumption is fueled by coal, oil, and gas, therefore creating incentives and planning for increased renewable energy use are crucial. Up to 90% of the nation's CO2 emissions have been attributed to the usage of this non- renewable fuel. Although the Malaysian government has said that the nation wishes to cut back on the usage of this fossil fuel, its use has not yet significantly decreased despite an increase in the amount of renewable energy that has been deployed nationwide.

Overall, the outlook for investment in the field of renewable energy in Malaysia is currently positive. Industry offers the market several chances to profit from advantages that may offset the expenditure of the initial investment. Investments in sustainable energy consumption, such solar PV systems, can benefit investors in the long term by reducing and immediately abolishing the use of fossil fuels.
