Essay, Paragraph, Speech on “An Accident” Essay for Class 9, Class 10, Class 12 Class and Graduation Exams.

An Accident

The road in front of my school is a narrow one. It is also very busy. Every afternoon when school is dismissed the road becomes almost impassable as children, bicycles, cars and buses jostle and struggle to use it. Sometimes a policeman is there to help things out, but generally chaos reigns and we have to be careful not to get involved in an accident.

A few accidents had already occurred. I was a witness to one.

If happened just after school. As usual the road was an utter mad house. Children were running across the road to get to their cars and buses. Cars and buses honked angrily at them.

Just then I saw a young boy make a dash across the road. There was a loud blare of horn, a squeal of brakes and I saw a car knock into the boy. He fell as though his feet were swept from under him.

Fortunately the car was not moving very fast and the driver managed to stop the car before a wheel could run over the fallen boy.

All traffic stopped. I ran over to the boy and saw blood on the road. He was bleeding from a cut on his head. A man came and examined the boy. Then he lifted the boy and carried him to a car. They sped off, presumably to the hospital.

Many people surrounded the driver who looked dazed and bewildered. A policeman came to calm things down.

As there was nothing I could do, I turned and walked down the road carefully. It was terrible to witness an accident. I certainly would not like to be involved in one.

An accident.

3 Best Essays on “An Accident”

Essay No. 01

These days our roads have become very busy. Moreover, everybody is in a hurry. So there are a lot of road accidents. Some people are injured; some, killed. The other day my father was driving me to my school. An accident took place before our very eyes. It happened about four hundred meters away from the school.

A cyclist, who was an elderly man, was trying to cross the road. He was hit by a young scooterist. It was the scooterist who was at fault. He was driving too rashly.

Both the persons involved in the accident became unconscious. The cyclist was hurt in the leg while the scooterist received head injuries.

A crowd of people gathered on the spot and the vehicular traffic came to a standstill. While the people were discussing who was at fault, my father drove the injured straight to the General Hospital.

The doctors on duty in the Casualty Ward were kind enough to give their immediate attention to the accident victims. They were soon able to bring them to their senses. They declared the injured out of danger. At this, my father drove home.

Thank God there was no loss of life. I had the satisfaction that my father had done a good turn. But I wondered why our scooterists should drive dangerously.

Essay No. 02

The word ‘Accident’ usually brings with it a sense of unease, a foreboding perhaps, as the consequence of an accident is unpredictable. The fear of accidents is such that we have tense parents refusing to let their children ride motorbikes even when they come of age!

The aim should be to avert accidents by driving safely, using helmets on two-wheelers, and not consuming alcohol before driving. All said and done, despite the greatest precaution one might take, one cannot always foresee and cater for another driver’s callousness and accidents will still happen. Do we then avoid driving? Flow about other accidents? A man fell into a manhole at night; a child got paralyzed when he ran into electric cables while playing on the roof, a child fell off his parapet while king a kite…..there is no limit to accidents. Do we sit at home then? No. We have to understand that it is a matter of probabilities. Every single person that lives will have an accident, major or minor.

An accident may change your life forever but in the larger scheme of things, you will find that it was inevitable and you did learn a few lessons from it. An accident will make you stronger and definitely wiser but whatever it does, fear of it should not stop you from living your life to the fullest.

Essay No. 03

Accidents are very common these days. We daily read about them in newspapers. They result in the loss of many precious lives. They are caused by a number of factors. Careless and rash driving is the main cause of accidents. Ignorance of traffic rules and craze for speed also cause accidents. Sometimes the drivers cause accidents when they drive buses under the influence of liquor.

Last month my uncle invited me to Delhi. I was supposed to reach there early the next morning. No train was available at that time. I decided to catch the night bus. The bus was nearly full. Some passengers were taking dinner. Others were gossiping. Still, others were dozing. The driver was driving the bus carefully. We reached Ambala Cantt at about 2 a.m.

The bus running smoothly. It had gone only a few kilometers from Ambala Cantt. There was hardly any light on the roadsides. A truck was coming from the opposite direction. It had no headlights. The driver of the bus could not notice it. There was a loud bang. The bus had met an accident.

As a result of the accident, the window panes of the bus were broken. The passenger shrieked for help. The bus driver and the passenger in the front seat were injured. It was a horrible scene. Two of the passengers were seriously injured. They were immediately rushed to the hospital. Luckily I had received no injury. The people of the neighbouring areas gathered there. They helped the passengers in every possible way. I caught yet another bus and reached Delhi in the morning.

Road Accident Paragraph 100 Words for Class 8

Road accidents are a serious problem in our country, causing many deaths and injuries each year. The main reasons for these accidents include careless driving, speeding, bad road conditions, and poor traffic management.

Many drivers ignore traffic rules and drive without proper licenses or training. Old and poorly maintained vehicles also contribute to accidents. Pedestrians and cyclists are at risk because sidewalks and bike lanes are often in bad shape or missing.

To solve this issue, the government and other groups should work together to make roads safer by enforcing traffic laws, improving roads, promoting safe driving, and teaching people about road safety. It is important for everyone, including drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists, to be responsible and help make the roads safer for all.

A Road Accident Paragraph 150 Words for Class 9, and 10

Bangladesh is a small but very crowded country. There are many vehicles on the road, but people do not know enough about traffic rules.

Because of this, road accidents happen very often. A few days ago, I saw a terrible road accident in Uttara, Dhaka.

I was on my way to school when I saw a middle-aged man crossing the road. At the same time, a truck was coming from the other direction at high speed. The driver did not see the man crossing. The man did not have enough time to get out of the way or run.

The truck hit the man, and the road was covered in blood. It was a very shocking and sad moment for me. This accident showed me how important it is to follow traffic rules and be careful on the road.

I couldn’t stop thinking about the man’s family and how their lives would change forever. It made me realize that road safety should be a top priority for everyone.

Road Accident Paragraph 200 Words for SSC

Road accidents have become very common in Bangladesh. We read about road accidents in newspapers every day, and they are happening more and more often. This is a big problem in our country. Most accidents usually happen in cities.

There are many reasons for road accidents. The main reason is reckless driving. Other reasons include breaking traffic rules, not having enough traffic police, trying to overtake other vehicles, damaged and narrow roads, and lack of public awareness. Pedestrians also contribute to accidents because they are often in a hurry, do not use over-bridges, and walk carelessly on the road. As a result, road accidents happen every day.

Some measures can be taken to reduce road accidents. Social media, radio, and TV can play an important role in raising awareness. The government should take proper steps to solve this problem. Roads need to be built according to proper plans, and a modern traffic control system should be introduced.

Traffic rules should be strictly enforced, and reckless driving should be punished severely. Defective vehicles should be removed, and driving licenses should be issued honestly and properly. Only then can we hope for a safer future on our roads and better transportation.

Road Accident Paragraph for HSC

A road accident is when a crash happens on the road or street. It can also be called a silent killer. Nowadays, road accidents happen often in our country and in other countries too. They are happening more and more every day. Thousands of people die each year because of road accidents. It is very sad and unexpected. Road accidents usually happen in cities and on highways. They are often caused by buses, trucks, rickshaws, baby taxis, and other vehicles.

There are many reasons for road accidents. The first reason is reckless driving. When one vehicle tries to overtake another, it can cause an accident. Also, accidents happen because of brake failure, unskilled drivers, and overloading of vehicles.

Another reason is not following traffic rules. Our roads are narrow, which leads to many accidents. Even the police find it hard to control those who break traffic rules. These people often crash into small vehicles, causing accidents. Sometimes pedestrians are hit by vehicles. Sometimes fast-moving vehicles fall into ditches beside the road. This often leads to the passengers dying on the spot. Many lives are lost, many families lose their only earning members, and many people become disabled. Road accidents also cause many children to become orphans and many wives to become widows.

Road accidents are like a curse for everyone. This problem can be solved with the efforts of both the authorities and the general public.

Firstly, people need to be more aware. Drivers need to be trained properly. Vehicles that are not fit to be on the road should be banned. Roads should be made wider. Traffic rules need to be strictly enforced. Both pedestrians and drivers need to be careful. By taking these steps, we can reduce road accidents. The mass media can also help a lot in controlling road accidents.

Road Accident Paragraph 450 Words

Road accidents are one of the biggest dangers to our health and will continue to be unless strict rules and actions are taken to reduce them worldwide. Statistics show that the number of deaths and injuries from road accidents has been steadily increasing. This is a major concern because it leads to loss of lives, disabilities, and great suffering for families.

The main reason for road accidents is irresponsible drivers. Drivers who do not follow traffic rules put themselves and others at risk. For example, speed drivers may have a harder time stopping or turning if something suddenly appears in their path. About 1.35 million people die each year due to road traffic crashes. Therefore, drivers must always follow safety regulations to avoid accidents.

Another major cause of car accidents is driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. A driver’s ability to drive is greatly reduced when they are under the influence of alcohol, leading to accidents. Driving while on drugs is also dangerous. For example, drugs like LSD can cause visual hallucinations, making drivers swerve recklessly. These actions can lead to serious injuries or even death. Therefore, drivers should completely avoid driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs to save lives on the road.

Distracted drivers are another big cause of car accidents. People who talk on their cell phones while driving are not fully focused on the road. Drivers who work on laptops, put on makeup and do other activities while driving can cause head-on collisions and fatalities. Therefore, drivers should wait until they have reached their destination to do these tasks, as they often lead to accidents.

Wearing safety gear like seat belts and helmets can greatly reduce the risk of accidents. Studies have shown that wearing seat belts and helmets lessens the severity of injuries during accidents. Governments should create organizations that oversee road safety policies, like the National Road Safety Committee, to reduce car accidents. Therefore, everyone should use safety gear that meets prescribed standards for maximum safety.

Teaching children about safety measures from a young age will help them follow these rules throughout their lives. Road traffic injuries are the leading cause of death for children and young adults aged 5-29 years. Therefore, creating awareness and education at an early stage can save thousands of lives.

In conclusion, road accidents are a global concern, and three major causes are irresponsible drivers, distracted drivers, and driving under the influence of alcohol. However, road safety is a shared responsibility. Strong public awareness campaigns are essential to raise understanding of the issue and motivate individuals and governments to take action, comply with existing laws, and introduce or amend laws that are missing or ineffective.

There are various policies which have been introduced by the government to reduce the number of accidents in the country. Various systems introduced abroad to control the accidents which takes place on the highway are like introduction of fine system, black points and installation of application like radars.

There should be formation of different associations which could take part in making the rules of road safety implemented in every part of the country and help the government in reducing the rate of accidents. Sharp division speed breakers which are situated on the highways could be placed with the forewarning boards and properly colored which could be seen from a distance.

There should be jurisdictional restriction on speed on different types of vehicles. There should be some technical equipment to put a check on speed.

Adequate measures should be taken by individual like proper wearing of seatbelts, time to time service of the vehicle to avoid any risk during long run. The driver should be educated enough to identify the roadside signboards to minimise risk of accident. The road safety rules should be followed strictly both by the people and the government agencies. This year 31 August was observed as road safety day in India.

Furthermore, passengers should also be vigilant enough to check drivers when they are over speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol. Police can play the pivotal role to decrease the ratio of the accidents. A street accident paragraph for class 8,9 (JSC,SSC) 200 words

Any road accident has a huge impact on the family and national life of the person and it is not desirable. I witnessed a terrible street accident right before my eyes yesterday. It was about 3 o’clock. I was waiting for a friend infront of the Dainik Bangla Building in D. I. T. Avenue, with my face to the north (ie, Purana Paltan Road), I saw an old man trying to cross the road. My eyes followed his movements. When he reached the middle of the road, a car came from the direction of Motijheel Commercial Area. The old man increased his speed to avoid an accident, but just a foot away from the northern sidewalk, he was hit by a truck coming from the direction of Baitul Mukarram, and the truck pushed him before the driver could stop the truck. A wheel of the truck went off on one of the poor man’s legs. I was watching the guy, so I shuddered to see him come in front of the speeding truck and close his eyes. I ran across the road and joined the small crowd gathered in front of the truck. The man was in great pain and it was soon discovered that he had broken a bone in one of his legs. When we were busy with the poor victim, the driver of the truck tried to flee, but he was caught by the police. We then brought the injured person to Dhaka Medical College Hospital as soon as possible. We were told that the broken leg had to be amputated. An hour later I was discharged from the hospital; But the painful look of the poor old man kept revolving in my mind over and over again. I’m scared of accidents and I can’t get back to my normal life.

“An unfortunate incident happens unexpectedly and unintentionally, typically resulting in injury and damage”

It has always been very difficult to cope up with loss of life of the one with whom we are deeply connected.

“In life, more than in anything else, it isn’t easy to end up alive.”

Road accidents have become very common nowadays. With the increase in population, number of automobiles and modes of transport have also increased. People are careless and don’t know the basic traffic rules and ultimately meet accidents which could have been avoided if they had followed traffic rules.

They are many news about horrible accidents in newspapers. These accidents cause a huge loss to the life and material. People on the road need to be very careful. Even those walking on the footpath are not safe due to increase in such accidents. Every day people witness accidents in the news, from relatives and even with their own eyes and still they show carelessness while on the road.

Once I was on my way back home from festive shopping when I witnessed a road accident. I was with my sister and it was around 6 o’ clock in the evening. In the middle of the road, we saw a crowd surrounding something. We weren’t quite sure what was happening as the first thought that came to our mind was that it was probably a quarrel between two men. However, when we reached the spot, we found out an accident had taken place.

After that, we got to know the whole story. A man was crossing the road when a truck hit him leaving him severely injured. The man was lying on the ground bleeding profusely and people were calling for an ambulance. We instantly called up the ambulance but time was running out. Therefore, an auto driver took the man in his auto and rushed to the hospital.

Subsequently, the police arrived as the people had caught the driver and were beating him up. After the police came, they caught hold of the driver and asked about the incident. Later, we came to know that the driver was drunk. The police detained him and went to the hospital for a statement. Fortunately, the driver was declared out of danger. The doctors dressed his wounds and informed that he was still in shock.

That incident made me realize how precious our lives are.

  • Lack of Discipline

Main reason for the accidents to happen is that we are not aware of the traffic rules. We don’t follow them. The most common rule of driving is to wear helmet or fasten the seat belt. This simple rule can save us from a huge loss to the property and life. We can save our life and property by just following this simplest rule.

  • Natural Causes

Natural causes like bad condition of roads, bad weather and stray animals are not in our control but if we take primary precautions we can minimize their effect.

How to Prevent Accidents?

  • Never Drive when Feeling Sleepy

In daily routine when we are coming from work we are tired and there is probability we may feel sleepy. In that case we should never drive because the chance of a serious accident increases. It is really good to relax a bit and then drive or better take a taxi.

  • Do not Drink and Drive

Drinking is the main reason of a number of accidents on the roads. First of all, drinking is not a good habit but, let us suppose for a moment, you have to take 2 or 3 glasses, you should never ever drive under such condition. Because drinking disturbs mind and normal routine. When you are drunk never drive and ask some other to drive the car.

  • Make Sure to Wear Helmet/Seat Belt

This rule is the easiest one to follow and has great benefits. This minimizes the effect in case of an accident.

  • Don’t Use Mobile Phone While Driving

This rule is one of the most neglected traffic rule. Everyone looks busy with mobile even on the road. We can find a huge number of people from our daily life who use mobile phone while driving. Attending calls, sending and receiving messages can divert or mind and we can lose control on the steering which causes accident.

  • Never  Over speed

No matter, how tempted you feel to speed up your car or bike after hearing the title tune of “Dhoom”. One should never do it because we all know that what is shown in movies is not real. A wise man once said

“It’s better late, than never.“

Conclusion:

There are so many things which are under our control and also there are some things which are not under our control. So, let’s do what we can do and leave the rest to God. With some effort I am sure we can bring down the number of road accidents.
