I am going to be discussing why college education should be free to all Americans. Providing high school graduates regardless of their economic and social condition the opportunity to have a free college education, will in essence prepare them to succeed in what is today a very competitive work place. In the first place I will discuss that graduates can't afford to pay their college debt because of low wage jobs, in addition I will be talking about student loan debt, and finally I will be telling you about the different countries that offer free college education to their citizens. According to the College Raptor report, most college students that graduate can’t afford to pay college debt due to low wedge jobs, and many drop out due to the inability to pay for their tuition. Rather than having to pay for their student loans, more college graduates would have the income to buy houses and as a result not have to rent apartments. They would be able to buy cars, have a budget for buying healthy food, and to pursue their hobbies. As a result they could contribute more to the economy. Unfortunately, many college students are often guided toward more practical majors that have a more lucrative post-graduation income and they are not able to have the freedom to choose a major they enjoy. In addition currently according to 4A’s dot org the outstanding student loan debt in the US is $1 trillion making it the second largest form of consumer debt behind mortgages in the US. Public colleges and universities offer lower tuition fees and programs such as the Florida prepaid college fond which offers
college saving plans for a 2 year and a 4 year university education and it locks the cost of tuition at a Florida college or state university. They also offer dorm and meal programs to assist with the cost of living on campus. The average student loan debt is about $30 thousand for a bachelors degree, masters and doctorate programs $40 to $50 thousand and can increase up to $200 thousand and over for those attending med school, and private universities. As a result of this huge debt, according to market watch dot com many candidates from both political parties are making college free education a part of their proposal and our current president Trump, promises to grant student loan forgiveness to disabled veterans. Consequences of students not paying their loans can result on hefty increase in interest rates, additional late fees and damaging credit scores if sent to collection.
Other industrialized and developing countries around the world offer free
college education to their citizens and foreign students. Argentina, Egypt, Finland, France, Iceland, and Kenya among many others that offer free education to their citizens. Finland, Germany, Iceland, Luxembourg, and Panama offer free college education programs to international foreign students. This has prompted may American students to travel aboard because they can earn degrees from top institutions. For instance in Norway were the cost of living is high and the winters are harsh, foreign and domestic students have the opportunity of obtaining a degree for free from institutions like the University of Oslo, the University of Bergen and the Norwegian University of Science and

Persuasive Essay On Free Education
Free Education Some years ago, when we were graduating from high school, we were asked what the next step was. Being so excited to be the graduates of 2015, knowing what we wanted to do with our lives and being accepted to the schools that we wanted to attend next. Funding was the one thing that stopped many of us from going directly to our dream schools. We needed to change our plans and stay back in order to scrape money together. And imagine how many students in this world have to change their plans of study because they can’t afford to pay to pursue their dreams. Having tuition free college will lead to no student debt and allow more people to attend higher level education, which in fact will also increase the amount of educated people in the world. Free education can help people not to see the cost as a barrier, to have a better-educated community and fill in the jobs that require advanced education. Firstly, students wouldn’t have to see the costs as a barrier to their education. The first thing that many people that want to go pursue a higher education is to look at the cost. Many people see the cost of university as a discouragement and seeing that in order to follow your dream, you must pay more than $2,500 per semester is just as bad. Not everyone can afford to spend such money every semester. In the article “Aiming Higher: Make College Tuition Free” Jon Weiner says, “The mother of all problems in higher education today is high
Effects Of Free College Tuition
Introducing free college tuition would have a positive impact of The United States, even so much as two year associate’s degree would have a hung impact. Free college tuition would give hope to the families which can’t afford the cost of tuition. Fran Cubberley states in his paper “The reality of Free Community College Tuition” that “1,300 students who completed our entry process through course registration ultimately dropped out before classes were underway. One of the major reasons was they could not pay their tuition.” Cost for tuition is huge factor on why people don’t attend college. Just think of all the amazing talent that the world is missing out on because people don’t have the money to attend college and get a degree or
Research Paper On College Tuition
Making College tuition free would over-all result in a more educated society. “We have made K-12 education free because it is good for the individual and for society. The same is true for higher education” (Page).
Should College Be Free Essay
With tuition being free they can focus on what they have always wanted to achieve and be in their lives without the worry of having to pay thousands of dollars and working many long hard hours at a job. Having free college tuition will allow students to make real life choices earlier out in the world. Some students would have the funds to begin their life decisions earlier, although some cannot make those choices till later in life, but by having free college could those choices could become possible sooner. Not all students have life decisions they chose or opted into so having something like looking forward to free tuition could boost their confidence in life and get on the right track to become something or someone they have longed to become. Plus, the impact on their lives could be changed into a better way of living and possibly for their family. Administering free college to everyone could open the possibility to more students, more professors and employees. Although, placing burdens on someone before they ever get a chance to experience life, could discourage someone from fulfilling their
Should College Be Free Research Paper
Having free college would let a lot of people the chance to study for something they want and like. Many people drop out of college for numerous reasons and one of them is money, but if college is free they don't have to worry about the money and just focus on studying giving them a opportunity. In other words people that couldn't afford to go to college would now be able to go because it would be free and wouldn't need too worry about paying college. Having a lot of people go to college is going to boost our economy up and would benefit the entire nation. People that got there education would go get the jobs with the most paying, which usually not many people are able to take, and having more money means they can spend money.
Why College Should Not be Free
I personally don't think that college should be free. Students who pay for their college are more motivated, hard working and independent. Many students would have poor motivation to finish school, because they can always come back. As a matter of fact students with ambitions to get university degree are learning much harder in high school than other, who thinks they don’t need an extra paper. There are many students that are so smart, and they will find the way to get money for school. With extra work and help from family students will be able to afford college tuitions. Students need to depend on themselves; otherwise every taxpayer will have to cover their education expenses. There are several reasons why
Free College Cost Benefit Analysis
“Calling something free doesn’t make it free, it’s simply a matter of who pays the costs” (Leukbe). College can’t be possible without someone paying the expenses. Yes, making college free for students will spare them lots of struggle. But then, the money will still need to be made up for one way or another. If we make college free, states will struggle to pay and Taxpayers will be forced to pay for what the students don’t. “We will come into a situation where, just like in any downtown there will be problems for the states to keep up the funding for the universities, or raise it”, as Professor Woessmann clearly states, free tuitions could also mean the downfall of of our country’s economy. A perfect example of a situation like this would be in the state of California, where college costs were decreased drastically, and as a result ended up putting the state in debt. Unable to raise incomes, the colleges were forced to turn away more 600,000 students
Persuasive Speech : Why Should College Be Free?
The United States was ranked 4th in the highest average cost of tuition, but we are only ranked 12th in the world in four-year degrees. This means that the productivity of the students in the states does not match the cost of their education. Additionally, the average rest of the world tuition coverage is 70% of college fees while the US government only covers 38% of college fees. Not only does a free education system help improve the economy, but it also grants students equality in their chances of being accepted. To elaborate, if everyone did not have to
College Should Not Be Free
One often overlooked point about “free” college tuition is that it is not ever free. The money does not just appear out of nowhere. What people normally mean by the statement of “free” college, it means free college for students. If the students are not paying than who would have to pay? The only other option would be the federal government. Right now, Americans owe more than $875 billion dollars in student loans. If the cost of tuition continues to grow at the rate it is, that number is only going to grow. If the federal government were to pay this, it would only further the country in debt.
Free College Tuition Essay
The words “free college tuition” spark interest in any college student with accumulating debt. In fact, this topic is so incredibly supported that Bernie Sanders implemented it as a core interest in his 2016 campaign. Once Hillary Clinton became the Democratic nominee, she decided to take it on herself with an extensive plan that guaranteed students free tuition. Unsurprisingly, free tuition resonates extremely well within the student demographic. To forty million Americans, free tuition eliminates the largest problem for students: debt (Hess, 2017). However, free college tuition generates the inverse of what these low-income and middle-income students believe. In fact, free college cripples them from multiple perspectives; students will end up spending more financially, will be less likely to graduate with a degree, and will be subjected to more inequality and less exposure.
Should Free Higher Education Be Free?
Although, looking from a different perspective free college tuition will allow colleges to keep their standards and be just as selective. Students who have a free higher education will help the students to strive academic prosperity and maintain it.
Free College Education Should Be Free
For my introductory reason, free college education would help poor students get educated. Indeed, some people are very poor. There are so many parents in the world that are poor, so that makes children unable to get education easily. According to my pro article, “They see it as both a private and public benefit. “ This quote means that it will benefit private and public schools. Poor children usually have to move to public schools, considering that they are free. If college is free, poor children would be able to get a job they want, because they can be educated on the job that they want to take part in. Some parents do not have any money, and they don't have jobs. They would not be able to earn enough money for their child to get educated. Free college will help solve this issue if they are old enough for college. It can make some parents thrilled, that their child is finally getting an education. Additionally, to quote trade-schools.net, it says “A better-educated population could result in smarter decision-making at every level of society, which could lead to faster progress in solving our most difficult,
Persuasive Essay : Why Should College Be Free?
If you had the chance to go to college for free and pursue your dream would you take that opportunity? This should be offered to kids who really want to pursue a degree and are serious about college, there will be guidelines to ensure that student will be responsible with this opportunity. This could change the life of someone who cannot financially afford to go off and pursue their dream, this could give them hope of getting their dream job; College can be very stressful emotionally and economically for some people, but with free college they can be relieved of their stress. The idea is that everyone should be allowed the opportunity to receive a higher education, it would relieve them from the financial situation when they graduate, and more jobs can be taken with people that have a degree and knowledge of the field.
Persuasive Essay : Why Education Should Be Free?
Education plays a huge role in today’s society. The only downfall about education is not being able to afford it. Education eats your bank account and costing people to lose thousands so they are able to do something they love or just get a degree. People always question one another asking why people do not go to college. Why are people not taking advantage of something that will pay well after it is completed? Most of the answers for that is that they cannot afford to pay for schooling or they have to work to provide for their family and school is not a number one priority right now. If education was tuition free students would only be able to focus on studying and passing college then looking for money to pay for their schooling and that would help them perform better at school if they do not have to worry about finding a way to pay for it. Education should be free because it would help lower the homeless population, dropout rates, and stop student debt after they graduate college.

The federal government will not be negatively affected if they offered free tuition, because they have enough money to fund colleges. Jordan Weissman, a former senior associate editor of the Atlantic who did research on how the federal government could make tuition free without extra money being spent: stated, “Here's a little known fact: “With what the federal government spent on its various and sundry student aid initiatives last year, it could have covered the tuition bill of every student at every public college in the country”. Tuition at community colleges is approximately $1,700. David Hosansky, a writer for CQ Researcher, addressed the matter of college tuition: “While tuition averages less than $3,500 per year — far lower than the $9,139 average for instate residents at a typical four-year public institution — many community college students still struggle to pay for their education” (388). Even though most colleges offer student loans, students still have to pay out of pocket for college because the amount of loans a student may take out is limited. Most student loans have to be paid back with a fluctuant interest rates. In cases as such, when students do not have the amount of funds needed by a certain due date, they get kicked out of college. Once an individual is no longer enrolled in college they have to repay the student loans they have taken out. Also, they have to pay off any remaining balances they have. Often
Essay about Higher Education for Free
Over the years, college fees have gradually risen for high school graduates. It’s been said that most jobs with a college degree earn almost double of what a high school graduate would earn. Many people all over the country have been unable to go to college because of these high fees for education. Some people think that your future shouldn’t be controlled by the amount of money you pay. If these fees continue to increase, then no one will be able to attend college. Higher education for free will increase productivity within students because they can get a good job, college is now a prerequisite, and college worthy jobs have great salaries.
